Any person engaged in Commercial Land Leasing must first obtain a Business License prior to commencing operations. All Commercial Land Leasing operations must renew their license on an annual basis in accordance with the Renewal/Inspection Zones.
What is Commercial Land Leasing?
Commercial Land Leasing is the rental, whether short- or long-term, of all or a part of a property to a tenant where the use involves vehicles and/or trailers that are movable or portable and is not associated with a Commercial Occupancy Certificate for the premises. Commercial Land Leasing includes but is not limited to commercial parking lots and mobile home parks.
What are the steps to obtain a Commercial Land Leasing License?
- Submit Completed Commercial Land Leasing Application (below)
- New Business Meeting (if applicable) - Community Development Staff will schedule a meeting with new businesses to welcome you to the City and learn about your operation. We will also discuss zoning, fees and any concerns. Fees will be due upon confirmation of your commercial activities.
- Inspection - An inspection is required by one or more City departments and the Wood Dale Fire Protection District.
- Business License Issued - Upon passing the inspection, approval of the application and payment of fees, the license will be issued. Occupancy of the leased spaces prior to issuance of the license is not permitted, unless specifically granted by Community Development.
