  • Fly Quiet Test 2: Runway Rotation Updated for 12-Week Test Beginning April 30th

    The City of Wood Dale continues to work with neighboring communities to mitigate the noise from O’Hare International Airport. Last year, the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission, in conjunction with the FAA, piloted the Fly Quiet Runway Rotation Test which took place July – December 2016. On March 10, the O’Hare Noise Compatibility Commission approved asecond Fly Quiet Runway Rotation Test for a period of 12 weeks, which will begin on Sunday, April 30.

  • Irving Park Road - IDOT Resurfacing Project

    Resurfacing work of Irving Park Road in Wood Dale is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, August 23rd, with saw cutting of curb and sidewalk. The Wood Dale portion of the project is expected to be completed by the middle of October.

  • Drivers' Licenses - REAL ID Act Compliance

    Secretary of State's office uses new process for drivers' license renewals. One key change, mandated by the federal government, is an end to the traditional practice of presenting each driver with a new drivers' license on-site when the renewal procedure is completed. The federal REAL ID law requires all new 50-state drivers' licenses to be manufactured in guarded, secured facilities.

  • Cashless Tolling on Illinois Route 390 Starts July 5

    Beginning July 5, 2016, cashless tolling will be coming to the Illinois Route 390 Tollway from Lake Street to I-290. This is the first, all-electronic roadway on the Illinois Tollway system, which provides for a safer, more efficient and seamless method of collecting tolls from customers.

  • Electric Aggregation Rate

    Residents would be better served by switching back to ComEd for the duration of the City’s program (July 2017). The City aggregation program has no early termination fee, so any resident wanting to move to the lower ComEd rate may do so with no penalty by calling the City’s current supplier, Constellation, at 1-844-309-6302. (Neither the City nor ComEd can switch your account, only Constellation.) Residents should have their account number on hand when they call.
