The Wastewater Division works to maintain the environmental standards to ensure a healthy environment for City through the treatment of the sanitary system effluent. The Wastewater Division ensures that the City of Wood Dale meets or exceeds State and Federal EPA discharge limits.
Currently, the City of Wood Dale is in the middle of a $30 Million rehabilitation of the North Wastewater Treatment Plant. This is project is scheduled for completion in the summer of 2015. When finished, the plant will use a state of the art Ultraviolet disinfection process that will remove all need for Chlorine Gas at the Treatment Plant. This is a much safer way to disinfect the water before it is discharged into Salt Creek.
