What improvements will be made as part of this project?
This project consists of intersection reconstruction and widening, new combination concrete curb and gutter, traffic signal modernization, traffic signal interconnection, storm sewer, water main, lighting and retaining walls. An additional southbound right turn lane will be provided which will accommodate dual right turns onto WB Irving Park Road. An eastbound Irving Park Road right turn lane is also being added to the intersection. The west leg of Commercial Street and Wood Dale Road will be realigned and relocated approximately 500 feet north of existing Commercial Street.
What are the construction project limits?
The construction limits on Irving Park Road are between Oak and Cedar Streets on the east and east of Oakwood Drive on the west. The construction limits for Wood Dale Road are between Potter Street and Sunset Drive on the south and approximately 500’ north of Commercial Street on the north.
