On October 8th PSI Testing conducted three environmental substance tests, for three different properties within the City. These tests were scheduled, organized and paid for by the City of Wood Dale. The purpose of the tests was to check and verify the IEPA's findings of the previous environmental study. Two of the tests came back as nothing detected or negative, while the third came back with low traces of a non-harmful algae. The test results from the City's independent PSI study confirmed what the IEPA had informed the City of earlier in the year.
Links to information on the algae and how to remove it can be found on the internet; for example, one website that discusses cleaning options is http://www.askthebuilder.com/black-algae-stains-on-asphalt-shingles
