Mosquito Abatement

The City of Wood Dale works with Clarke (Clarke Webpage) to provide mosquito abatement within the City Limits.  The City budgets each year for three (3) whole town sprayings, which also allows us to have special spraying for the Movie in the Park nights, as well as Prairie Fest.

In 2014, the City increased the sprayings to eight-(8) due to the mild summer and the large rain events that made the broods greater than ever this year.

If you have questions regarding Mosquito Abatement, you can call Public Works at 630-350-3530 or call Clarke's
Illinois Mosquito Hotline at 1-800-942-2555, or contact Public Works via e-mail.

DuPage County Health Department's Mosquito Abatement Task Force has developed a Personal Protection Index (PPI) widget to continually monitor weather conditions, WNV case counts and mosquito surveillance data, translating them into a defined set of actions residents can take to protect themselves. The widget is continually updated by the Health Department during mosquito season to provide meaningful and timely guidance to protect public health.
