If you are experiencing a sanitary sewer backup at your residence, please call the Wood Dale Public Works Department at, (630) 350-3542, during the normal business hours of 7:00 a.m. through 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday.  After hours, please call the Police Department non-emergency number, (630) 766-2060.  DO NOT CALL 911.

A Public Works employee will be dispatched to your home to check the City’s main sewer line for a blockage.  If the main sewer is blocked, the City will clear the line at no expense to you.

If the main sewer is clear and the blockage is somewhere in the service line that runs from the house to the main sewer, it is the responsibility of the property owner to have the line cleared.  If you call a plumber before calling the Wood Dale Public Works Department, any fees incurred are the responsibility of the homeowner, even if the blockage is found to be in the main sewer.
