Many feel that posting address numbers on the mailbox is sufficient, however, in an emergency, would you rather have the Police, Fire Department, or Paramedics focusing on mailboxes, or on the house or building they are responding to? Mere seconds can make a big difference in an emergency, and Emergency Responders are greatly aided by having addresses posted in large and well-lit numbers on an area of the house or building easily visible from the street.
So, if you get a “Crime Prevention Notice”, does it mean you are in trouble or have a fine to pay? No, it means that we are trying to help you prevent crime, protect your property, and increase the efficiency of our response if you have an emergency – and this may be a life saving difference for you.
