Elected official that is part of the governing body of the city responsible for providing legislative direction.
Responsible for setting policy, ordinances, and proclamations around capital improvement projects, health & safety, major projects or repairs, zoning, land use development, and strategic planning.
Help set, evaluate, and approve annual City budget. This includes operating and capital budgets including but not limited to evaluating target level expenditure bases for each department as well as additional/incremental service level requests.
Budgets are also prepared for all special revenue, internal, debt service, enterprise, and capital project funds.
Develop a long-range vision for its future-community goals.
Develop sound approaches to community challenges by bringing together resources to make the right things happen and produce results that matter.
