The Wood Dale Police Department Patrol unit consists of three shifts (Midnights, Afternoons and Dayshift).  The shifts are ran by 5 Sergeants and includes 21 patrol officers.  Additionally, the Patrol Unit oversees three Community Service Officers.

Sergeants and Patrol Officers are responsible for patrolling the streets of Wood Dale 24 hours a day, enforcement of various traffic laws and keeping the streets of Wood Dale safe.
