Police Night Out
The Police Department hosts an annual "Wood Dale Night Out" on the field behind the police department each year. The event is open to the public and is a big hit with Wood Dale families and residents alike.
The first phase starts with quite a few games for kids and adults. We have a dunk tank, kids play house, and a Bingo area. We have a DJ who plays some great music and free ice cream. We have many booths of other vendors such as the Wood Dale Fire Department and Metra to display some railroad safety materials. Kids can check out the fire trucks up close and talk with our fire-fighters.
The second phase of the night is at the Wood Dale Beach, the Park District pool on Commercial. It's open pool time for all participants. We have games for the kids where they chase special coins that are thrown into the pool and win prizes! We also feed all our participants, and it is all free!
The Wood Dale Police Department staff enjoys spending the time getting to know the residents and the children seem to love it as well.
We have many Wood Dale area sponsors that help with some of the costs!
