The City of Wood Dale encourages residents to adopt a stormwater drain to assist with cleaning the grates of debris and making sure the drains are in safe working order. Adopters will be tasked with maintaining the drain’s overall performance. This will include cleaning debris from the top of the grates and reporting any issue to Public Works.

Residents who are replacing their driveways are eligible for the City’s cost-savings program and can receive a reimbursement for $50 per sidewalk square and/or up to $300/50% of the total cost of the apron to be replaced. 

All necessary City permits must be obtained for the project in order to receive reimbursement. Only sidewalk squares that directly touch the driveway are eligible for reimbursement. Sand Bags are available 24 hours a day/7 days a week at the Public Works facility located at 720 N Central Ave.

All owners of single family residences in the City of Wood Dale are eligible for 100% reimbursement for one rain barrel at a cost not to exceed $50.  The rain barrel must be completely closed or screened to prevent mosquito breeding.

Rain Barrel Program 

 The City of Wood Dale has initiated a Senior/Disabled Snow Removal Discount Program with the purpose of assisting those in the community who need snow removal services that do not have the means of completing it on their own. The program will be limited based on available funds and will be on a first come first serve basis for those that qualify.

Residents may petition for street lights to be installed on their block. The threshold for the petition shall incorporate at least a 25% affirmative response rate from that block (i.e. if there are 10 homes, 3 must sign petition).
