Brush Collection

The City’s Curbside Brush Collection is offered to Wood Dale residents to assist with landscape maintenance. The program is designed to dispose of large branches and tree limbs that cannot be collected through regular yard waste collection.

Brush Collection is offered from April - November. Ciosek Tree Service, will begin pickup Monday of each week, collection will be completed by the Friday of the same week.

Branches and limbs must be on the curb no later than 6:30 am on the Monday of each collection week. Please note, only one pass is made through each area and no callbacks are allowed. No material may be placed curbside prior to the Sunday before a scheduled pickup.

If brush is placed at the curb after the routes have been completed, it will not be picked up until the following month and must be removed from the parkway.

Volume & Brush Collection Requirements

Brush or trees trimmed by private contractors will not be removed.
Branches must be 2" to 8" in diameter and can be up to 15' in length. Neatly stack all branches at the curb.
Branches smaller than 2" in diameter must be securely tied into bundles with twine.
Branches smaller than 2' in length must be disposed of in a waste container or yard waste bag.
Collection is for large quantities of tree branches and bushes that cannot be disposed of during weekly pickup.
No leaves will be accepted.
Large roots and dirt must be removed from any brush and put into your yard waste container.
Special pick-up services are made by the Public Works department following major storms in order to remove debris.
Holiday tree removal is done in the month of January.

Yard Waste

Yard waste collection services are offered April - November of each year.

In order for a yard waste or leaf container to be collected, a City yard waste sticker, available at City Hall, must be visible. Paper yard waste bags may also be used and do not require stickers.

There is no limit on the number of residential yard waste containers or bags placed out for collection by a given household, provided all containers and bundles are not in excess of the 4-foot length requirement; bags containing unacceptable material, such as refuse or dirt will not be collected.

Flood Brothers offers an approved yard waste cart for an additional monthly cost.

Flood Brothers will collect brush and tree trimmings as long as the materials are bundled and secured with biodegradable twine or other acceptable material, and no more than 4-feet in length and 50 pounds in weight. Each branch shall not exceed 2-inches in diameter, with the total diameter of the bundle not to exceed 18-inches.
