The City of Wood Dale has awarded a contract for the Central Avenue Resurfacing Project to Builders Paving, LLC. The work will take place along Central Avenue from Foster Avenue to south Thorndale Avenue. Work is scheduled to begin the week of April 11^th, with completion by mid-May.

The work will consist of roadway grinding, patching, resurfacing, curb and gutter removal and replacement, ADA enhancements and minor storm sewer modifications. 

Due to the location and nature of the work, access to driveways may be temporarily limited during construction. If your driveway is scheduled to be out of service overnight to allow for concrete curing, the contractor will notify the property owner in advance and alternative access or parking solutions will be made.

The contractor has been directed to avoid using any residential streets for ingress and egress of trucks and equipment throughout the project. Instead, access will be maintained from south Thorndale Avenue and Wood Dale Road via Sivert Drive. The Wood Dale Police Department will be performing enhanced enforcement of this area to ensure compliance.

Recent routine inspection by City staff of the sanitary sewer in your area has uncovered areas of severe root infiltration by several large trees located above the sewer main. This presents the risk of a blockage occurring and wastewater backing up into resident’s homes. In response, the City Council has approved a proposal from Performance Pipelining, Inc. to excavate and replace approximately 140 feet of sanitary sewer main along Gilbert Drive just west of Brookwood Drive. In preparation for this work, several large parkway trees along Gilbert Drive will need to be removed by the City’s contractor.

Any temporary disruptions to your sanitary sewer service will be communicated directly with you beforehand.

It is frequently performed to improve smoothness, reduce imperfections, add texture and friction, and repair the profile while increasing drainage

Street rejuvenation focuses on suspending the current age of paved surfaces. Ideal roads for treatment include roads that have been paved within the past five years. By applying a rejuvenation product to surfaces, aging can be delayed 5-7 years, reducing wear and surface cracking, sealing out moisture, and preventing oxidation.
